The app downloads current database information from the internet and saves it on your device so you can search airports while out of range of cell phone service, The search engine provides current details of runways and communication frequencies, including AWOS and ATIS, if available. You can search by airport name, location or any simple text which is relevant. For example, use a search for "CYYZ" as an identification, or "Lester B. Pearson" as a name, or just "Pearson" which will find several airports.
All airports found will show as a table and you can select the one of interest to take you to the detail screen. Here you will see the airport name, elevation, latitude and longitude, all runways and all communication frequencies broken out by function such as: ARR. DEP, ATIS, GND, TWR, MF, etc.).
This is designed as a convenient pilot aid not as a substitute for formal documents in flight planning.
